TTU Campus Ministries Hosting Collegiate Day Of Prayer Thursday

Several student ministries will come together on Tennessee Tech’s Campus Thursday to celebrate the National Collegiate Day of Prayer.

Baptist Collegiate Ministry Minister Ben Maddox said each year, a day is set aside by the national organization for the Christian community to come together and lift the campus.

“Prayer for one is encouragement, but also seeing a group of people united together across denominational lines and we have this common unity of Christ and common practice of prayer, it just strengthens that community,” Maddox said.

Maddox said the event begins at 6:00 p.m. on the plaza between Derryberry Hall and the University Center. Maddox said the one-hour program will include facilitated prayer times as well as gospel music.

“I believe the group is called One Name that meets regularly to pray for Cookeville,” Maddox said. “They approached several of us campus ministries about interest in adopting the National Day of Prayer at Tennessee Tech. Kai Alpha, The Gathering and Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be participating.”

Maddox said the event is open to the whole community.
