Tracy Church graduated from Tennessee Tech in 1994. She said in high school she made the decision to become an engineer. Church said that if you live in Tennessee and you want to be an engineer, you go to Tennessee Tech.

“The Tennessee Tech experience really influenced my career decisions with having that early exposure,” Church said. “And then of course preparing students to be successful and employers recognize that.”

Church said she hopes to continue the legacy of hiring TTU alumni to create strong teams in the manufacturing and engineering world. She said she plans on recruiting the best for her team.

Church said she is excited to be part of the leadership that will bring some 6,000 employees to work in a west Tennessee electric vehicle manufacturing facility and battery manufacturing facility. She said she has seen firsthand through her work with Nissan just how impactful an employer like this can do for the surrounding area.

Church said she looks forward to seeing how Blue Oval City can impact the growth of the economy both from the retail and the residential aspects.
