TSSAA, Bluecross Bowl Returns To Cookeville

State titles are at stake for 18 Tennessee high School football teams heading to Tennessee Tech this week for the BlueCross Bowl.

An estimated 30,000 to 40,000 thousand fans will visit Cookeville during the three day event, which begins Thursday.

“Our community loves this event,” said Zach Ledbetter, Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors’ Bureau vice president of visitor development. “Hosting the BlueCross Bowl has become a tradition for our citizens, community leaders, local emergency services, law enforcement, and area businesses.”

Cookeville has held the BlueCross Bowl since 2009 and will continue to do so for at least the next four years.

In January of 2017 the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Board of Control granted Cookeville an extension to continue hosting privileges
