Truck Driver Suffers Minor Injuries in I-40 Semi Crash

The driver of a tractor-trailer that crashed on I-40 Westbound in Cookeville Tuesday was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Lieutenant Jimmy Neal, the truck hauling auto parts drove off the left side of the highway into the center median where it struck a guardrail.

The truck went down an embankment before coming to a rest on the driver’s side. The accident blocked the left lane of I-40 for nearly an hour as crews worked to clear the roadway.

The driver’s name or cause of the accident were not available.
