A crash involving a pickup truck and trailer brought I-40 eastbound to a near standstill Friday afternoon near Baxter.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Aaron Wilson, of Rickman, was driving when his trailer began shaking as he changed lanes.
The THP report indicates as Wilson slowed down to regain control, the trailer swung to the left of the truck, spinning it around before running off the right side of the road. The truck came to a rest in a ditch after rolling onto the driver’s side facing backwards to the roadway.
Murphy Allan, 21 of Cookeville, was a passenger in the truck at the time of the accident. He suffered minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
Both Allan and Wilson were wearing seat belt at the time of the accident.
