A tornado warning brought large hail to Overton County Wednesday morning, but no widespread damage.
Emergency Management reported large hail in the Allons area. Several trees down, including Walnut Grove Road and East Main Street. Strong winds also reported in the Wilder area.
The warning was for a radar indication of rotation. Nashville-based forecasters said the storm produced a classic bow echo as it moved from Overton County into Fentress County, often a sign of very strong winds aloft.
The storm moved out of Macon County where large hail was noted in Red Boiling Springs.
The region could face several severe threats Wednesday including flooding rains as storms train over the same area north of Interstate 40 during the next several hours. Any storms that develop could become strong.
A cold front will approach tonight with the chance of strong to severe storms.
