A tractor-trailer loaded with frozen turkeys caught fire on I-40 Wednesday morning at the 268-mile marker.
According to a report from THP, one of the brakes on the trailer locked causing it to overheat and eventually catch fire, burning the trailer and its contents. The tractor was able to disconnect before the trailer could cause damage.
There were no injuries sustained from the incident. The interstate continues to be partially closed due to this incident. Traffic is able to pass on the shoulder at this time.
