A Cookeville man continuing his work with Toys for Tots after 12 years of providing Christmas gifts to families in need.

Freddy Duncan and Sons Moving and Storage Owner Freddy Duncan partnering with Life Church. Duncan said last year, over 2,000 children received toys.

“When you are there on the day you are giving those presents out and you see the need and thankfulness of people, it will bring a tear to your eye and it will make you feel good about doing it,” Duncan. “It does for me anyway.”

Duncan said donations are being excepted now for this year’s Toys for Tots Drive. Duncan said donation boxes are located at several retail locations across Cookeville or you can drop a toy off at Cookeville Life Church.

Duncan said the biggest need this year are children’s bicycles. Duncan said if you are a family in need, you can go to Life Church on December 8th to register.

Toys for Tots was started by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Duncan said he started working with the Smyrna Marine Base and utilized his business to store the donations. Duncan said as donations and needs grew, he partnered with Life Church six years ago.
