The return of the Mistletoe Market at the Leslie Town Centre also means the Together We Care program is back.
The $2 dollar market admission funds the charitable program. Event Coordinator Kathryn Molina said the money helps non-profits offset costs to use the event center.
“We do a drawing per quarter, and we give one of the non-profits that wins that quarter a $500 check,” Molina said. “They can apply that to rental place here or have a discount for their meetings.”
The Mistletoe Market occurred the first week of November. Molina said turnout for the annual event was one of the top ones since the market began. Molina said with last year’s event being cancelled, the revenue was needed.
“COVID really hurt them,” Molina said. “Most businesses were hurt in some way and impacted in some way, so I just think our non-profit organizations are grateful, our Mistletoe Market vendors are grateful, we’re grateful and we just hope that we can continue this amazing event.”
Molina said the Cookeville Rescue Mission, CRMC Foundation and others have won over the years. Molina said the drawing for this quarters winner will happen soon.
“I know that this money and the money that we take and we bring in really does impact people, because of the amount of feedback I received from people that attended the event,” Molina said. “I think everyone is ready for us to continue to have these events.”
Molina said Together We Care does not have another event scheduled in the near future. However, Molina said multiple markets are in the pipeline for next year.
