Three Injured Following Tuesday Crash In Putnam Co.

A Two vehicle crash in Putnam County sent three people to Cookeville Regional Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities said the accident happened around 3:05 p.m. on Highway 70 at Hawkins Crawford Road.

88-year-old Alvin Bertram and 75-year-old Judith Bertram suffered injuries when their 2017 Ford Escape crossed into the path of a Jeep Cherokee traveling south on Highway-70. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was identified as 52-year-old Kimberly C. Wheeler.

All three individuals received treatment for injuries and police later arrested Wheeler for DUI and cited Alvin Bertram for failure to yield.
