Three DeKalb Inmates Charged After Assault In Jail

Authorities have charged three female DeKalb County inmates after assaulting another inmate.

20-year-old Emma Flesher, 26-year-old Natalie Barrett, and 40-year-old Rebecca Pelfrey face one count of assault and are each being held under $2,500 bond.

DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray reports the three women pulled the other inmate off the top bunk of her cell and proceeded to kick her in the back and head.

Flesher had previously been arrested last month for stealing a vehicle in Smithville and using the owner’s credit card. No word on what started the assault or what Barrett or Pelfrey had previously been charged with.

Ray said all three women charged in the assault are scheduled to appear in court April 18.
