THP Releases New Report on Fatal Putnam Crash

The Tennessee Highway Patrol released a corrected traffic report following a crash that killed two on Highway 62 in Putnam County Monday.

The THP’s updated report states 24-year-old Rudy Levine, of Grimsley, was travelling westbound in a 2006 Chevy Malibu with 24-year-old Jesse Morrison, of Jellico, in the passenger seat.

The new report indicates Levine lost control of his vehicle while travelling downhill and struck 42-year-old James Oakes, of Monterey, who was driving eastbound in a 2000 Nissan.

Levine and Morrison were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while Oakes was injured in the crash.

The initial THP report placed the deceased in the Nissan and named Oakes as the driver of the Malibu who lost control.
