A Monday evening crash in Putnam County claimed the life of two people and injured another.
The crash happened at 5:27 pm on Highway 62 in Monterey.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the deceased as 24-year-old Rudy G. Levine of Grimsley and 24-year-old Jesse L. Morrison of Jellico.
42-year-old James M. Oakes of Monterey suffered injuries in the crash. His condition remains unknown.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report, Oakes was driving westbound in a 2000 Nissan when he lost control of the vehicle. The Nissan turned sideways and was struck by an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet operated by Levine.
The report said Levine and passenger Morrison were pronounced dead at the scene.
