Thousands of people from across the United States are expected to experience the solar eclipse at Tennessee Tech’s Tucker Stadium.
The University is an official NASA viewing location for the eclipse. A total of 8,500 people have registered to attend a festival full of educational activities, guided viewing, and an appearance by Tennessee Tech alumnus and NASA astronaut Barry Wilmore.
Travelers will come from 27 states and 6 countries.
The eclipse festival area will open Monday at 10:00 a.m. between Tucker Stadium and Hooper Eblen Center.
Viewing glasses will be provided to the first 10,000 guest.
