This Week: White County Will Vote On Landfill Negotiation

This week the White County Commission will discuss allowing County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson to handle negotiations for the sale of the county landfill.

The solid waste committees last week heard presentations from two potential companies seeking to manage the landfill and Waste Management received a higher score than its competitor. The negotiations will include how solid waste is disposed of alongside the sale of the landfill. The meeting takes place on Monday at 6:00pm.

Monday at 5:00pm the Livingston Planning Commission meets. At 5:30pm on Monday the Cookeville Planning Commission meet with a discussion of possible amendments to the official street map.

The Putnam County Commission will consider adding Honeysuckle Trail, Lemongrass Lane, and Sweet Magnolia Way to the official county roads map. The commission meets at 5:30pm on Monday.

The Fentress County Commission will consider submitting an application for a Dollar General Literacy Grant when it meets 6:00pm on Monday. Also Monday at 6:00pm the Jackson County Board of Education meets. The DeKalb County Commission meets at 6:30pm on Monday.

The Jackson County Commission will consider allowing the highway department to purchase a new backhoe to replace one that was totaled. The meeting scheduled for Monday at 7:00pm.

The CRMC Finance Committee meets at 4:30pm on Tuesday. McMinnville Aldermen meet on Tuesday at 7:00pm.

Wednesday at 12:00pm the Crossville City Council will have a special called meeting. They will consider approval for a certificate of compliance for a local liquor store.

The Van Buren Board of Education will discuss an agreement Wednesday with the election committee regarding where elections will be held in the county in the future. They will also go over the school letter grades given to the schools in the county. The meeting takes place at 5:30pm.

Thursday at 5:15, the Algood Board of Zoning Appeals meets. They will consider a request for a fifteen foot setback variance in order to establish three mini-storage buildings on Burton Branch Road.

At 5:30 on Thursday the Spencer Aldermen meet.

Thursday at 6:00pm the Cumberland County Board of Education meets.
