This Week in the Upper Cumberland the Putnam Commission will have one last work session before voting on its redistricting plan Monday.
Commissioners will gather at 5:00 p.m. for final questions or concerns for the 12-district plan. The commission meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.
Multiple grant applications will be up for consideration. A 50/50 matching grant to help with construction of the Ag Pavillion at the new Fairgrounds and a $72,000 grant for the county fire department.
The Van Buren County School Board will meet twice this week. A special called meeting will happen on Monday at 5:30 p.m. Members will discuss the coaching position for the high school’s girls basketball team.
The school board will gather again for its regular monthly meeting Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
The White County Commission will consider a resolution Monday to join other local governments in an opioid agreement. The Tennessee State-Subdivision Opioid Abatement, a lawsuit against manufactures that could give a settlement to White County.
Business begins at 6:00 p.m. at the county courthouse.
The Van Buren County Commission will consider approving its five-district plan Tuesday. Members will also consider appointing a new county historian. The commission will vote on these items at 6:00 p.m. at the county municipality building.
Final redistricting plan approvals continue in Fentress County. Tuesday, commissioners will also vote on how the county will be divided. A loan request from the highway department for road repairs will also be discussed.

Thursday, the Sparta Board of Aldermen will have a second reading on a code amendment. It would delete a section of the code that states mask wearing is unlawful for any person.
