This week in the Upper Cumberland the Putnam County Commission will consider action that would allow a land purchase from Cookeville Tuesday.
Commissioners will vote on an option that would allow the county to purchase 92.54 acres over the next six years if needed. The land is known as the Trinity Property.
A resolution will also be considered to request the General Assembly to approve a Private Act. The charter change would allow the General Sessions Court to perform adoptions. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.
The White County Commission will consider a $29,000 budget amendment Tuesday to carry out a special called election. A referendum to increase the sales tax rate the only item on the March ballot.
A $209,000 budget amendment for the Sheriff’s Department to purchase tasers and virtual reality training gear. A grant is funding the purchase. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m.
The Cumberland County Commission will vote on a resolution to continue repairs on the historic courthouse Tuesday. The building’s structural integrity in question causing a portion of the building to close. Business starts at 6:00 p.m.
The Van Buren County Commission will consider transferring its American Rescue Plan money to Spencer and Bledsoe County Tuesday. The commission has partnered with both entities to assist in water infrastructure projects.
