This Week: Putnam Commission Extends Fairgrounds Option, Cumberland Motorsport Park Discussion

This week in the Upper Cumberland the Putnam County Commission will discuss extending its option on the fairgrounds.

The first 120-day option that a Nashville developer has on the fairgrounds expired. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at the county courthouse.

The Cumberland County Commission will have a work session concerning a new motorsports park in Westel Monday. Flatrock USA leads the project that will be located off exit 338 of I-40. The concept plans for hotels, restaurants and campgrounds to reach more than Motorsport fans.

Following the work session, the full commission will begin its regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. Members will consider a resolution to accept offers from T-DOT relating to the Woody Convenience Center property.

Purchasing another property to be the home of the convenience center will also be discussed.

The White County Commission has a resolution prepared requesting the termination of a cutting project in the county. TWRA has already began the three to five year process to convert some 2,000 acres to quail habitat.

The commission will also reappoint members to the county’s E-911 Board. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at the county courthouse.

The Pickett County Commission will meet at 6:00 p.m. at the county library.
