This Week Overton Commission Elects Chair, Celina Aldermen Consider Paving Loan

This week in the Upper Cumberland the Overton County Commission will elect a new chair Monday.

Commissioners will also elect a chairman pro-tem. A new $3.00 increase to title fees will also be considered by the commission as well as opening a county clerk office for one day a month in Hanging Limb.

This could be the last commission held at the Overton County courthouse. Commissioners will consider moving to the Millard Oakley County Services Building. They gather at 5:00 p.m.

The Byrdstown Board of Aldermen will meet at 5:00 p.m. Monday. The Clay County Commission meets 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

The Monterey Board of Aldermen will consider bids for roof work at the Monterey Depot. Business begins at 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Tuesday, Celina Aldermen will consider a USDA loan for paving. Mayor Luke Collins said some $2 million would be used to pave about 14 miles of city streets.

The Algood City Council will vote on purchasing some new police vehicles. The council gathers at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The Overton County Board of Education meets 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Cookeville City Council gathers for its regular scheduled meeting 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
