Tuesday and Wednesday have produced the fewest number of people tested for COVID-19 at the Putnam County Health Department.
Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter called that a good sign.
“For two weeks, we’ve said to please listen and follow the directives and take personal responsibility and heed the guidance from the experts and do your part,” Cookeville Mayor Ricky Shelton.
The county has 81 confirmed cases. Seven people have been treated at Cookeville Regional Medical Center for COVID-19. Three have been released. Three employees of the hospital have been quarantined at home.
The Putnam County Health Department will conduct testing 9am-3pm Thursday as well as 9am-12Noon Friday and Saturday.
More than 1,000 residents have been assessed by health officials over the past three weeks with more than 700 actually tested.
