Tennessee Tech has hired three new deans to help lead the university in the next academic year.
TTU’s College of Engineering has chosen Dr. Joe Slater as the school’s next dean. Slater accepted the position after 26 years as a faculty member and administrator at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
The College of Agriculture and Human Ecology has hired Dr. Darron Smith as its new dean. Smith comes from Eastern New Mexico State University, where he spent the last eight years as the Chair for the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences and Agriculture.
The Whitson-Hester School of Nursing has promoted Dr. Kimberly Hannah from her role as interim dean into the full position. Hannah has led the School as interim dean for two years, helping increase enrollment in nursing education while demonstrating academic excellence.
The university released a statement saying each of the three hires were the result of national searches. Both Slater and Smith will begin their new roles on July 1.
