Tennessee Heart Relocating Jamestown Cardiology Office

Tennessee Heart will move its Jamestown cardiology practices to a new location beginning June 12.

CEO Margaret Arseniadis said the relocation comes after concerns regarding the future of Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC).

“Not only will the cardiologists see patients in the office, they would also go over to Jamestown hospital and consult and read imaging studies,” Arseniadis said. “Then last month when we were notified when Jamestown hospital was temporarily closed, we were in an office that was hospital-based.”

Tennessee Heart cardiologists see approximately 25 patients each Wednesday when they travel in from Cookeville.

Arseniadis said utilities were shut off from their building, prompting Tennessee Heart to find a new location within Jamestown.

“We weren’t able to service in the outpatient a couple of Wednesdays because of utility service,” Arseniadis said, “so there was one Wednesday in the month of May that we had no power. We couldn’t see patients that day so we quickly had to cancel that day. Then with closing last week, we had to reestablish a new facility.”

JRMC has diverted patients from its emergency room to other area hospitals since May 23.

Arseniadis said not having a steady healthcare facility greatly affects the residents of Jamestown and Fentress County.

“I can’t even explain the level of importance of having a hospital or urgent care center in that area,” Arseniadis said. “The folks there, depending on where they live in the county, they’re an hour to an hour and 45 minutes away from a treatment facility now.”

The new Tennessee Heart office in Jamestown will be located at 100 South Duncan Street. Tennessee Heart is operated through Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
