The state budget passed last week includes more money to continue upgrading Tennessee Tech facilities.
The legislature approved some $6,290,0000 in capital outlay funds as part of the 2018-2019 state budget. Tennessee Tech President Dr. Phillip Oldham said the money will allow Tech to continue its rehab of roofs across campus.
“We have a number of roofs on campus that are overdue for repair,” Oldham said.
Oldham said several of the engineering quad buildings are next in line for repairs once work ends on several historic quad buildings. Oldham said an extensive list of repairs and upkeep scheduled for the foreseeable future.
The state budget also included money for capital projects already planned at Tennessee Tech. That includes $6.7 million for upgrades to the Cooper/Dunn Residence Hall. An allocation of some $10 million for a facilities services complex also included.
