Putnam County students can begin applications for Tennessee Tech’s Fall 2025 Semester Monday, some two weeks before the new semester window opens.
Director of Admissions Frank Tittle said officials hope the early admissions will bring local students peace of mind, knowing there is a place waiting for them at Tech.
“You want to give that support to the local community, and the community does a great job of supporting Tennessee Tech, and I think that’s just one of the ways that we can give back to our local students,” Tittle said. “And also, you know, like I said it gives them a jump start on being eligible for those scholarships, the scholarship applications.”
Tittle said the early application window was designed for high schoolers, but any first-time college freshmen from Putnam County are eligible. He said it typically takes three to five business days for students to receive an admittance decision after they submit all the necessary documents.
“Once a student applies to Tennessee Tech, you know, it can be – it’s as quick as that process of getting their transcript from their high school counselor,” Tittle said. “I think that’s the biggest thing is just making sure that once you’ve applied that you do request all those pieces be sent in to Tennessee Tech.”
Tittle said the other key item students need to submit in order to cut down admissions time is their ACT test score.
He said students will start receiving information about the university’s fall events once they apply such as the Preview Day and College Town Kickoff.
“We just look forward to helping the students that are starting Tennessee Tech this fall and helping those future Golden Eagles who will be applying this fall,” Tittle said.
Tittle said students can start applying for scholarships as soon as they are admitted, but early admission will not affect their likelihood of being awarded anything.
“It just gives them a jump start,” Tittle said. “It gets one thing out, one of those barriers out of the way so to speak, and gives them that opportunity to get that process started.”
Applications for the fall 2025 semester will be opened to all students on August 1.
