TCAT McMinnville could receive a total campus replacement in the near future as a part of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission master plan.
The project has yet to receive funding but has been recommended as a project to happen over the next 10 years. President Melody Edmonds said a new campus is needed since the existing facility is more than 50-years-old.
“We have grown and that is both good and one of the challenges that we face is that when we see a need in our community for various programs, we don’t have the space here to accommodate those,” Edmonds said.
Edmonds said the current campus also lacks the electrical capacity and technology needed for current programs. Edmonds said the next step is for the school to apply for state funding. The Tennessee Board of Regents will select three applicants for the Higher Education Commission to consider.
