A man faces charges for leading Jackson and Overton County law enforcement agencies on a pursuit Thursday and striking a deputy with his vehicle.
A TBI release said both Jackson and Overton County deputies responded to a domestic incident involving 35-year-old Casey Looper on Allens Chapel Road around 7:45 a.m.
Initial reports indicate that an Overton County deputy fired shots after Looper’s vehicle hit a Jackson County deputy, who was on foot. Looper was not struck and a pursuit continued until two Overton County deputies fired shots and disabled the vehicle.
The Jackson County deputy received treatment at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Looper was taken into custody by Overton County officials.
