Putnam Election Commissioner Submits Letter Of Resignation

Putnam County Election Commissioner Wendy McCown-Williams submitted a letter of resignation at the end of Wednesday’s election commission meeting. According to the letter, the appointment of a poll worker that changed his party affiliation to independent was the reason. The commission voted in favor 4-1 to hire the worker. Election Commission Sets Vote Counting Hours

The Putnam County Election Commission set 11 p.m. as the cutoff time for counting votes for August’s election. Election Commission Administrator Michele Honeycutt said elections officials across the state have expressed concerns over how long it will take to count absentee ballots on election night August 6.
