Cookeville City Council began preparations for winter last night, purchasing 500 tons of road salt. Public Works Director Blake Mayo said the city is currently two-thirds full on salt. In an effort to improve traffic flow, Cookeville officials want to conduct a pilot program with a new traffic light synchronization technology.
