Seven Pickett County Commissioners voted for a adding a hotel occupancy lodging tax for tourists staying through vacation rental companies. Pickett Commission Negotiating TDS Disposal Contract

The Pickett County Commission is trying to reach a fee agreement with TDS Disposal. Under their 10 year contract, TDS transfers county’s trash to its landfill and can negotiate trash pick up costs. Pickett Commission Rejects Tourism Grant

The Pickett County Commission denied permission for a county group seeking a grant to restore Byrdstown’s Amonett House. The Pickett County Historical Society approached the commission to apply for a $75,000 Tennessee Tourism grant that included a 10-percent match. Pickett County Lowers Tax Rate

The Pickett County Board of Commissioners voted to lower the county’s tax rate 5-cents, setting it at $2.41.
