Taco Bell Site Work Begins In Monterey

Monterey residents will soon be able to live más.

Mayor Bill Wiggins said work has finally begun on the future Taco Bell Restaurant.

“There’s a massive amount of work. The site preparation is going to be involved,” Wiggins said. “I understand there’s got to be some dirt removal. Just getting the site up to snuff and ready for the placement of the building.”

Monterey first announced the new restaurant in July of last year. Wiggins said he doesn’t know when construction will be completed.

“I would not hazard a guess because I announced to the world that they were coming a year ago, which was true,” Wiggins said “but there have been some unexpected delays. We knew it was going to happen, but we just didn’t know when.”

The restaurant will be located Stratton Avenue near the Bank of Putnam County.
