T-DOT Right-Of-Way Plan For Portobello Complete

T-DOT has completed the right-of-way plan for the Portobello project in Baxter.

Community Relations Officer Rae Anne Bradley said the final plan will need local funding before being shared with Baxter.

“Once we have that approval, the right-of-way acquisition process and utility coordination process can begin,” Bradley said. “The acquisition process for this project involves 11 different tracts and should take roughly about a year to complete once the official right-of-way plans are distributed.”

The right-of-way phase is where all properties needed to construct the project are acquired. Bradley said the project for utilities and roadways is schedule for construction in the spring of next year.

“This project is being facilitated through T-DOT’s state industrial access program,” Bradley said. “This program provides funding and technical assistance for highway access for new and expanding industries across the state.”
