McMinnville Police have asked the public for help in locating an SUV that struck a pedestrian Sunday night.
According to a written statement, the incident happened just after 8:00 p.m. on Bybee Branch Road near Bybee Branch Church of Christ.
Police officials said the driver left the scene, leaving the victims lying just off the roadway.
Detective Todd Rowland said the condition of the victim is not known at this time.
“I need to call and check on the victim to see what his status is. I don’t know if he is still in the hospital or not,” Rowland said. “But we are looking for a Ford Escape or a Mazda Tribute. It’s the vehicle we are looking for and it is white in color.”
The statement indicated the SUV may have damage to the passenger side. The vehicle is believed to be a 2001-2007 Mazda Tribute or Ford Escape.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact McMinnville Police detectives at 931-472-3386.
