Sunday Morning Crash Injures At Least One Person In Putnam County

A medical helicopter had to airlift at least one person to a hospital following a Sunday morning crash in Putnam County.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 40 eastbound near mile marker 280.

A preliminary crash report from the THP said a crew cab Dodge dually got caught underneath a commercial vehicle. Officials said both lanes of traffic had to be shut down while life flight landed on the highway for an entrapped subject.

The report did not release any identities of those involved in the crash.
