Storybook Trail Nearing Completion At Edgar Evins State Park

The Hillside Storybook Trail will be completed at Edgar Evins State Park within the next few months.

Just under a mile in length, the trail will feature blown-up pages from a children’s book posted along the way. Park Manager Kenny Gragg said young hikers will have to keep walking to finish the story.

“It’s just one more way of getting our message out to the public and to a whole other age group,” Gragg said. “It’s something for the little kids to do. Everybody can go out and hike these longer trails, but this is really geared towards those younger children with the shorter legs.”

The storybook trail funded by a grant obtained through the park’s friends group. Gragg said Tennessee’s first storybook trail opened a year and a half ago at West Tennessee’s Long Hunter State Park on Percy Preist Lake.

The Hillside Storybook Trail scheduled to be completed by June 2nd.
