A tree fell on a vehicle during a strong thunderstorm in Clay County Wednesday afternoon.
Clay County Emergency Management Agency Director Natalie Boone said the incident happened on Happy Springs Road in the Hermitage Springs area.
“There were no major injuries and those folks have been checked out by EMS,” Boone said.
Boone said most of the storm damage was reported in the Moss area back towards the Macon County Line.
“We’ve got several places on Highway 52 West that are down to one lane of travel because of trees across the roadway,” Boone said. “Several of the county roads also have trees across the roadway.”
“We’ve got fire crews trying to cut the trees out and get roads opened back up,” Boone said.
A flash flood warning was issued in Clay County until 5:30 p.m.
