State’s Best Shooters Headed To Crossville

The Crossville Shooting Sports Park will host the 2024 Tennessee State Super-Sport and 5-Stand Championships this weekend.

Since they won the bid last September, Manager Barry Kelly said he and his team have been hard at work getting the nearly 200-acre park in championship condition. Kelly said more than 100 participants from across the state are already pre-registered for this event.

“It’s very exciting to have that many shooters,” Kelly said. “You know, anytime you can get that kind of participation at your facility it brings, you know, a lot of interest in our place, it brings a lot of revenue into our county and our community as far as hotel business, restaurant business.”

Kelly said that the process of bringing the event to Crossville, not helped the park, but brought extra revenue to the county.

“I mean, yes, it is very, very beneficial to us here at the shooting sports park, but it’s very beneficial to the community as far as Crossville and Cumberland County,” Kelly said.

This will not be the first time Kelly’s crew hosted a championship weekend. Last year, the park hosted the Tennessee State Sporting Clays Championship.

“We have moved over 100 automatic throwers, mowing the entire facility,” Kelly said. “You know, it’s just a big undertaking when you have one of these events.”

Kelly said he’s looking forward to showcasing the park’s southern hospitality and first-class amenities to this weekend’s on comers.

“The grandeur of the property, everything as far as maintaining and keeping everything looking very, very nice,” Kelly said. “We’re probably, you know, top three club in the state of Tennessee.”
