Newly Elected State Representative Ed Butler preparing for his first General Assembly gathering January 10th.
Butler said he has spent his time in office speaking with constituents about their concerns. One in particular he wants to address is the jail in Morgan County.
“I have some adoption legislation that I have been working on that would potentially help the department of corrections and some of our correctional officers and folks that serve in the jail in Morgan County,” Butler said.
As for Fentress and Overton Counties, Butler said he does not have any planned legislation. Butler said he has been working on normal constituent issues.
Butler said he expects the session to be very busy as he learns the basic operations. Butler said education and the state’s budget are two topics he expects to be discussed.
