Social media may help police track down some vandals.
Monday night, Cookeville Mayor Ricky Shelton shared pictures and video of individuals spray-painting vulgar images and messages on the CityScape trailer and a historic building on West Broad Street. The vandalism took place shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday. Shelton encouraged anyone with information to contact the Cookeville Police.
Tuesday, Major Carl Sells said the police department is actively pursuing several leads. Sells said he believes all the suspects will be “located and interviewed before the week ends, if not sooner.”
