The 17th Senatorial District Special General Election takes place Tuesday.
DeKalb County Election Administrator Dennis Stanley recommends getting to the polls early.
“We open at 8:00 in the morning and close at 7:00,” Stanley said. “I would suggest that the best time to vote is usually mid morning to mid afternoon, but I don’t think there will be a long line at any point during this election cycle.”
Democrat Mary Alice Carfi and Republican Mark Pody are squaring off to fill the unexpired term of former Senator Mae Beavers who resigned earlier this year to focus on her campaign for governor.
