Sparta City Manager Chris Dorsey said the water plant renovations are moving forward as expected. Renovations began in mid-March.
“It is on schedule, it’s moving forward, the progress is as good as can be expected which is very nice, even with the weather we’ve had, we’re pretty much on schedule with it,” Dorsey said.
The project’s still in the early stages, with about a year of construction left to go. The $3 million project will upgrade the plant to provide clean water for Sparta and the surrounding area for the next 40 years, Dorsey said.
