Sparta Hosting Remote Area Medical Clinic

The Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps has partnered with Bon Air Community Church to host a clinic at White County High School Saturday.

Clinic Coordinator Hailey Vittetoe said the clinic will provide dental, medical, and vision services. Vittetoe said the clinic has visited Sparta annually for several years.

“This event has taken a year to plan,” Vittetoe said. “It’s a very strong event. We have extremely quality doctors coming out and it’s a good way to go ahead and get your checkups done.”

Vittetoe said the staff is prepared and expects to see a big turnout. Vittetoe everyone in the community is welcome to come to the clinic.

“People will start parking the day before,” Vittetoe said. “It’s first come first serve with our gates opening at midnight so people will stay there until the doors open.”

Vittetoe said the biggest takeaway from visiting many different communities is seeing the joy on people’s faces when they have access to services.

“No matter the community I just love seeing people walk away with a smile,” Vittetoe said. “For so many people it can be life-changing so it’s always rewarding.”

The clinic will be an all-day event beginning Saturday, September 14th at 6:00 AM, and will be open no later than 11:59 PM.
