Sparta officials hope Roosevelt Dive will be paved soon.
The city’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen passed a measure allowing City Administrator Chris Dorsey to put the project out for bids if approval comes in from TDOT.
“We have been waiting multiple times to get approval from TDOT, different phases of this project, it’s taken awhile, we’re excited that we’re going to be able to get it paved, since it’s adjacent to the high school, we’re trying to pave it this summer before school gets back in session,” Dorsey said.
Dorsey said the road is a “collector road” therefore, they can use TDOT funding for the paving.
