Smithville Man Sentenced For Tax Evasion

A Smithville man has avoided jail time after being charged with tax evasion earlier this year.

31-year-old Brandon Alan Tramel entered a plea this week to two counts of evading taxes and received a 2-year sentence suspended to supervised probation.

An indictment against Tramel accused him of evading taxes by fraudulently registering two vehicles and five boats with the DeKalb County Clerk’s Office.

Tramel will have to pay $5,538-dollars in restitution.
