A single vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Smith County man.
The crash happened around 8:00 a.m. this morning on Highway 25.
The deceased is identified as 68-year-old David H. West.
Authorities said West was traveling South on 25 when his 1994 Chevy pickup crossed the center line, left the roadway, and struck a culvert. The impact caused the vehicle to go airborne, according to the Tennessee highway Patrol’s report.
West was ejected and found underneath the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The report said West was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
