Shipping Facility Owner Says Care, Urgency Needed For People Still Shipping Holiday Packages

Anyone still looking to send a package for Christmas needs to make sure they send their packages soon and to pack them as carefully as they can.

Copy Pack and Ship Owner Ryan J. Good said people using the postal service to send holiday packages should get their items in the mail as soon as possible. Good said the best way to ensure packages get to their destinations on time and undamaged is to use common sense when packing and choosing shipping options.

“The smaller, the lighter, and the closer it is, the less expensive it’ll be, but that’s not always an option so we understand,” Good said. “Packing, just the better, better off you can pack it the better. If you toss it across the room and it survives, then it’s packed well enough.”

Good said packages shipping with FedEx should arrive before Christmas if they are sent before December 22 and the sender is willing to pay for overnight shipping. He said the workers of Copy Pack and Ship can help people pack their boxes if they are concerned about keeping them safe.

“That’s where we come in,” Good said. “We can do that for you.”

Good said there is there is a sharp increase in business at his shop as Christmas gets closer.

“I’d say probably say sixty percent busier each day, every day we get closer to Christmas,” Good said.

Good said he suggests people check to see if their items are packed well enough by holding the package in their hands and dropping it.

“We’re kind of all in the same boat,” Good said. “Everybody realizes it’s Christmas about the same time. I do the same myself. I’m always jealous that we do have customers who come in, you know, middle of November and ship their Christmas items and I tell them I’m jealous.”

Good said his advice for packing items should be kept in mind year-round, not just during the holidays.
