State Representative Paul Sherrell of Sparta announced Tuesday he will seek reelection in 2018.
Sherrell represents the 43rd District consisting of White, Grundy, and a large part of Warren County.
Sherrell first elected to office two years ago when he defeated incumbent Democrat Kevin Dunlap. He will face Jerry Lowery in the Republican primary race in August.
Former Warren County Commissioner Les Trotman will be running for the office as a Democrat.
