A Putnam County Sheriffs Deputy has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested Sunday night on DUI charges.
Deputy James David Gibbons was arrested by Cookeville Police around 8pm Sunday on DUI and implied consent. His bond was set at $1500.
“I am terribly disappointed with the decision Deputy Gibbons chose and the behavior he displayed,” Sheriff Eddie Farris said.
Gibbons has been a deputy since 1992. He has been on administrative leave with pay, pending an internal investigation. He becomes the second Putnam County Sheriffs Deputy arrested in the last six months on DUI charges.
