Forecasters said three to four hours of accumulating snow are possible early Monday morning. But as with most snow forecasts, stay tuned.
An upper level low pressure system expected to move across the southern counties of Tennessee this afternoon and evening. It will bring rain Sunday afternoon. Temperatures, however, will begin cooling as the low passes, setting up the chance for snow in the early morning hours of Monday.
Forecasters at the Nashville National Weather Service Office said they expect temperatures across most of the Upper Cumberland to be below 32 degrees, leading to some accumulation.
However, ground temperatures have been extremely warm for several weeks. In addition, models have not depicted this weekend’s rainfall amounts well, resulting in less rain than expected.
After some possible snow showers Monday morning on the way to work, a sunny and dry week, though cooler, will begin.
