The UT Extension Service said September is the month to take care of your yard.
Extension Agent Wayne Key said climate and weather conditions make September a great month for yard work.
“If you would like to reseed your yard, or take care of fall weed issues or apply fertilizers or lime to your yard, the month of September is perfect,” Key said.
The kind of grass that grows here plays a part, too.
“Our grasses in our lawns are cool season grasses predominantly and those cool season grasses, this is the month to get them sown in the yard for the state of Tennessee,” Key said.
This week’s cooler temperatures and lower humidity will make the work less exhausting, Key said.
