A new, state-of-the-art extended stay hotel will soon open on Cookeville’s South Jefferson Avenue.
Candlewood Suites, a Holiday Inn brand, will be built right beside the Carmike Cinema on Jefferson Avenue. The hotel offer guests staying three to four nights a full, high tech facility, according to project coordinator Jeff Smith.
“We’ll have the best of the best internet service within the facility, we’ll also have an extensive market to choose from items to prepare in their guest room for meals,” Smith said.
Candlewood Suites also features an outdoor gazebo for grilling, a full exercise facility and a fully-equipped kitchen in each suite.
Grading on the land has been completed and Smith said construction will begin soon. Smith said the hotel scheduled to be finished by the second week of December.
“Things are on schedule and we’re very excited,” Smith said.
Candelewood will be the second new hotel to open in Cookeville during the last year. Chamber officials said the city needs more rooms with high occupancy rates consistently at the existing hotels.
